Abstract

Assume that a plane electromagnetic wave is incident on an infinitely long cylinder having a piecewise-differentiable surface S and a normal cross-section contour ρ(φ), which is situated in free-isotropic space. It is required to find the distribution of the surface-impedance tensor of the general form Z^, which ensures the required cross-polarization scattering pattern (SP) in the absence of a matched-polarization reflected field in the stipulated direction. We shall seek the solution in the approximation based on the physical-optics method.
