The effect of the water film at the dish surface on the radiation characteristics of single-dish antennas has been analyzed. The gain and radiation pattern of single-dish antennas with different geometry were calculated using the method of physical optics and solving the model problem on scattering of the plane electromagnetic wave at a dielectric layer located on a perfectly conducting substrate. The radiation characteristics of single-dish antennas in the 3 cm wavelength band were conducted and compared with the results obtained by calculations. It has been shown that the proposed calculation method ensures a good agreement between the experimental and theoretical data.
