Research results of optimal and suboptimal rules used for processing of coded ultra-wideband (UWB) signal with unknown time of arrival at the output of communications channel with combined multipath propagation with known and unknown attenuation are given. Physical reasons of a complex structure of the UWB signal at the output of the mentioned channel are explained, calculations of the detection characteristics, i.e. distinguishing between signals from several users, are performed.
