Abstract

On the basis of the obtained characteristics of detecting fluctuating radar signal with a receiver which is based on the two-contrast method it is shown that when the threshold value of the contrast function z = 1 the two-sided contrast method gains non-parametric properties consisting in the independence of the false alarm probability on the unknown distribution of noise interferences. Analytical expressions are obtained demonstrating that in contrast to the known non-parametric methods the two-sided contrast method during the detection of the fluctuating pulse signal against the background of normal non-stationary and strongly correlated noise interferences with unknown power provides independence of the false alarm probability on a priory unknown non-stationarity parameters and cross-period correlation coefficient retaining high interference immunity of the signal detection.
