The paper presents a new theory of surface magnetostatic oscillations in ferrite pipes of elliptical cross-section. A modified change of variables is used for transition to the elliptic coordinate system. The spectrum of such oscillations is shown to consist of two groups — a high-frequency and a low-frequency one, localized on different surfaces of the ferrite. For both groups the fundamental modes (n= 1) are studied, and dependence of the frequency interval between them on physical dimensions of the system is investigated. Comparison between the theory and experiment is carried out. The pipes of this type can operate as readjustable two-frequency resonators in the microwave range of frequencies.References
