Excitation of "whispering gallery" oscillations in a half-disk dielectric resonator by a coupling slot in the mirror

The paper presents the results of experimental investigation of “whispering-gallery-mode” oscillation excited in a half-disk mirror electric resonator by the coupling slot in the mirror. The characteristics of the oscillation resonant fields, perturbed by the coupling slot, are studied. As distinct from the natural oscillation, characteristics of the “whispering-gallery” forced oscillation are shown to depend on location of the oscillation excitation element on the segments of the field with various intensities.References
