Abstract

The paper is devoted to a new electrodynamic theory of metal probe-scatterer based on the diffraction pattern of formation of the perturbed (secondary) field. The work discloses peculiar features of measurement of amplitude-phase distribution of the field in the opening (in the terminal planes of analysis) of the multimode guide structure. An algorithm is presented for compensation of multiplicative distortion inherent in the passive sounding method. Experimental results of practical implementation of the method are included.
