Maximum attainable accuracy of ultra-wideband estimation of range and velocity at sounding by discontinuous pulses

Abstract

The paper considers characteristics of the maximum likelihood estimates with regard for abnormal errors. Optimal parameters of the sounding pulse sequence, corresponding to minimal errors of range or velocity measurement, are determined.
