Abstract

In designing a pulse transformer (PT) for some particular load, the specific requirements governing the values of the parasitic parameters are revealed. Thus, for operation of a PT into a relatively low-resistance load the principal role in shaping a pulse edge is played by the leakage inductance, while for a relatively high-resistance load the principal influence on the edge duration is exerted by the parasitic capacitance.
