Estimation of radio-signal delay for an unknown average value of the modulating noise

Abstract

The structures have been established for a maximum-likelihood receiver and a substantially simpler quasi-optimal receiver for purposes of estimating the delay of the radio signal in a background of white noise. The variances have been found for the estimates obtained by means of synthesized receivers.
