Abstract

The problems associated with the measurement error estimation of signal parameters containing information about the motion of located extended objects have been considered in the paper. Measurement errors of desired signal’s information parameters have been determined on the background of additive non-Gaussian noise under the conditions of changing range taking into account radiation pattern shape of the radar measuring device. It has been shown that taking into account of non-Gaussian nature of the additive noise, that affects the measured information parameters of the processed signal, can significantly increase the potential accuracy of the measuring device. The results of experimental investigations of the radar measuring device, which was implemented using the obtained dependences, are presented. These results show that the accuracy of the measuring device, ceteris paribus, is significantly higher than those of similar commercially available prototypes.
